Paramount to efficient operations at Curragh Mine is the health and safety of all employees, contractors and mine visitors. Curragh’s goal is zero accidents, incidents and injuries. To make this vision a reality, Curragh implemented a dynamic Safety Management System which illustrates our philosophy and commitment to achieving zero incidents, accidents and injuries.
Stringent health and safety standards have resulted in a dramatic improvement in safety performance and a consistently low Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR). The Safety Management System ensures a safer workplace by identifying workplace hazards, providing standard, safe operating procedures and importantly, involving employees and contractors in ownership of safety. This has assisted in reducing LTIFR to historical lows.
